I have revisited my side-by-side Italian–English edition of Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini and updated both the online libretto on LibrettoArchive and the paperback edition.
The corrections were not numerous, but I continue refining the formatting and presentation of the libretti so that both the website and paperback editions follow the same consistent style throughout the series.
During this revision I corrected a number of OCR and formatting issues, including broken italics, missing spaces, punctuation problems, speaker attribution errors, and several translation inaccuracies in both the Italian and English texts. I also prepared an updated PDF preview for the edition.
Manon Lescaut remains one of my favorite operas. While working on this edition, I also returned to the original novel by Abbé Prévost, whose tragic story inspired Puccini’s opera. Revisiting both the libretto and the novel helped me pay closer attention to details of tone, meaning, and dramatic atmosphere throughout the text.
