Terms of Use
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These terms apply when you use LibrettoArchive (www.librettoarchive.com), run by Dmitrii Murashev. By using the website or creating an account you agree to them. Please also read the Privacy Policy.
The website
LibrettoArchive offers opera libretti with side-by-side translations, composer and opera information, and related content. Much of it is free to read. Some content is available only to registered users, or only after you subscribe or unlock an opera.
Your account
- You need a valid email address, or a Google account, to register. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information, and do not register on behalf of someone else.
- I may suspend or close accounts that abuse the website, break these terms, or harm other users or the service.
Purchases
Subscriptions and unlocks are processed by Stripe. The price, the period and what you get are shown before you pay. Access starts when payment is confirmed. If a payment goes wrong, or you have a question about a charge, get in touch through the contact form and I will sort it out. Receipts are available on My Profile.
Content and copyright
- Many libretti are in the public domain. The translations, notes, biographies, layout, images and other original material on this site are protected by copyright and belong to Dmitrii Murashev or their respective authors, unless stated otherwise.
- You may read the site, and quote short extracts with a link back to the page, for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes.
- Please do not copy, republish or sell substantial parts of the site, share paid content with people who have not paid for it, or collect pages in bulk with automated tools without asking me first.
Comments and suggestions
Registered readers with a verified email address can comment on libretto pages and suggest improvements to translations. If you post, you agree to the following:
- You are responsible for what you write. Please be civil and stay on topic. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful or that infringes someone else’s rights, and do not post spam or advertising.
- You keep the rights to your own words. By posting, you give LibrettoArchive a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to display, store and reproduce your comment on the website, and to adjust its formatting, for as long as it appears on the site.
- If you suggest wording for a translation and I adopt it, I may use, adapt and publish that wording as part of the translation without payment. Where it is practical, I am glad to thank you.
- Comments are published immediately. I may hide or remove any comment, and stop an account from commenting, at my discretion; readers can report comments they think break these rules. Links in comments are marked as user-generated and are not endorsed by me.
- Comments express their authors’ own views, not mine, and may be wrong. Please do not rely on them.
- You can edit a comment for 15 minutes after posting and delete your own comments at any time. If an account is deleted, its comments may stay on the site as “Deleted user”; you can ask me to remove them.
Acceptable use
Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or other users’ accounts, and do not use it for anything unlawful.
No guarantees
I take care to keep the content accurate and the site available, but both are provided “as is”. Texts and translations may contain errors, and the site may occasionally be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Changes
I may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed; continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept the new version.
